1. Uneasily - Feeling anxious, worried, or uncomfortable. Example: “She glanced around uneasily, not sure if she was being followed.”
2. Haywire - Out of control, chaotic, or malfunctioning. Example: “The machine went haywire and stopped working altogether.”
3. Obsession - An intense, persistent focus on a particular thought or activity, often to an unhealthy extent. Example: “His obsession with cleanliness made it hard for him to relax.”
4. Varsity - The main sports team representing a school or college in competitions. Example: “She made the varsity basketball team in her freshman year.”
5. Stunned - Shocked, surprised, or rendered temporarily unable to react. Example: “He was stunned by the unexpected news.”
6. Whimper - To make soft, weak sounds expressing pain, fear, or sadness. Example: “The puppy whimpered when it was left alone.”
7. Couldn’t help oneself - Unable to control one’s actions or reactions. Example: “She couldn’t help herself from laughing during the serious meeting.”
8. Lunged - Made a sudden, forceful forward movement, often to attack or grab something. Example: “The dog lunged at the intruder.”
9. Beg - To ask earnestly or desperately for something. Example: “He begged her to give him another chance.”
10. Peer - To look closely or with difficulty at something. Example: “She peered through the window to see who was outside.”
11. Thud - A dull, heavy sound made when an object hits something else. Example: “There was a loud thud when the book fell off the shelf.”
12. Startle - To suddenly shock or surprise someone, causing them to jump or react. Example: “The loud noise startled him while he was reading.”
13. Horrified - Filled with horror or shock. Example: “She was horrified when she saw the damage caused by the storm.”
14. Chuckle - To laugh quietly or softly. Example: “He chuckled at the funny story.”
15. Get ahead of oneself - To act or think prematurely about future plans or outcomes. Example: “Don’t get ahead of yourself; we need to finish this step first.”
16. Screech - A loud, high-pitched, unpleasant noise. Example: “The car tires screeched as the driver hit the brakes.”
17. Bulbous - Rounded or swollen in appearance, like a bulb. Example: “The frog’s eyes were large and bulbous.”
18. Manage - To succeed in doing something, especially something difficult. Example: “She managed to finish the project on time.”
19. Indifferent - Having no particular interest or concern; unconcerned. Example: “He was indifferent to the outcome of the game.”
20. Urgh - An expression of disgust, frustration, or annoyance. Example: “Urgh, I can’t believe this traffic!”
21. Aghast - Filled with shock or amazement, often with an open mouth. Example: “She was aghast when she heard the news.”
22. Exaggerated - Made to seem larger, more important, or more extreme than is true. Example: “His story about the fish he caught was clearly exaggerated.”
23. Patience - The ability to wait calmly without becoming annoyed or upset. Example: “It takes patience to learn a new skill.”
24. Overstate - To describe or explain something as more important or significant than it actually is. Example: “He tends to overstate his role in the project.”
25. Swiveled - Turned around a central point. Example: “She swiveled in her chair to face him.”
26. Goofing around - Behaving in a silly or playful way, often wasting time. Example: “The kids were goofing around instead of doing their homework.”
27. Miserable - Feeling very unhappy, uncomfortable, or suffering. Example: “He was miserable after losing his job.”
28. Ridiculous - Deserving or inviting mockery; absurd or unreasonable. Example: “The idea that he could run a marathon without training was ridiculous.”
29. As if - An expression used to indicate disbelief or sarcasm. Example: “He said he was going to win the lottery, as if!”
30. Insist - To firmly state or demand something, despite opposition. Example: “She insisted on paying for the meal.”
31. Mutual respect - Shared admiration or regard for each other. Example: “A good partnership is built on mutual respect.”
32. Dwell on - To think or talk excessively about something, especially something negative. Example: “He tends to dwell on past mistakes.”
33. Disapproving - Showing a lack of approval or support. Example: “She gave him a disapproving look when he told the joke.”
34. Loom over - To appear threateningly close or large, often causing worry or fear. Example: “The deadline loomed over them as they worked.”
35. Glare at - To stare at someone angrily or fiercely. Example: “He glared at his opponent after the foul.”
36. Meekly - In a quiet, gentle, or submissive way. Example: “She meekly agreed to his suggestion.”
37. Shot - A sudden attempt or try at something. Example: “He took a shot at answering the difficult question.”
38. Doubt - To feel uncertain or have a lack of confidence in something. Example: “She had some doubts about the plan.”
39. Stammer - To speak with pauses or repetitions due to nervousness or difficulty. Example: “He stammered when trying to explain his mistake.”
40. Bleacher - A tiered seating area, often found in sports arenas, usually without a roof. Example: “The crowd cheered from the bleachers.”
41. Shrieked - Screamed loudly and sharply, often out of fear or surprise. Example: “She shrieked when she saw the spider.”
42. Disbelief - The state of being unable or unwilling to believe something. Example: “He shook his head in disbelief when he saw the score.”
43. Abandon - To leave behind or give up on something or someone. Example: “They abandoned the car when it broke down.”
44. Summon - To call or bring someone forward, usually with authority. Example: “He summoned the courage to speak up.”
45. Crammed - Filled or packed tightly. Example: “The small room was crammed with boxes.”
46. Scratch - To rub or scrape with something sharp. Example: “He scratched his head, trying to remember the answer.”
