Since I’m someone who can’t stick with one thing for a long time, my hobbies have changed many times. Let me tell you about how my hobbies have evolved over the years.
When I first entered university, I finally had the chance to do the things I really wanted. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what I wanted, but I had a lot of time to figure it out. Back in the days when I was retaking exams, my only hobby was jump rope, so I thought I might want to try different kinds of workouts.
The university I attended was near a national park with a mountain, so I decided to go hiking there. It had been a long time since I had gone hiking—probably not since I graduated from elementary school. One day, I was singing a song about animals living in the mountains, and just at that moment, I saw a squirrel. It felt like a sign, and since then, I really got into hiking. I joined the university hiking club, started rock climbing, and traveled to other cities to hike different mountains. I enjoyed hiking for almost three years. I even won fourth place in a hiking contest organized by the president. It was an exciting experience. However, as you might know, descending a mountain can be tough on your knees, and over time, my interest in hiking started to fade.
During those three years, I also started personal training sessions for powerlifting. I realized I really enjoyed that type of exercise, so I dedicated myself to it. Eventually, I managed to lift a total of 200 kg in the three major lifts. I stopped when I developed back pain, though.
When I began studying intensely during my first year of the main medical course, I didn’t have much time for working out. That’s why I loved CrossFit—it doesn’t require much time, but it’s highly effective. However, now that I’m on a year-long leave of absence, the short workout sessions are no longer ideal for me.
After that, I tried swimming for two months, kickboxing for two months, and weight training for a month. I enjoyed all of them, but I’m not sure they could be called my hobbies because the more consistently I did them, the more boring they became.
Lately, I’ve been enjoying taking photos with a DSLR camera and started skateboarding. Both were really fun at first, but it’s been hard to keep them up because carrying around the gear for my hobbies has been bothersome. So, I’m not really sure what my hobby is at the moment. But I’ve been thinking, hobbies don’t have to be impressive or fancy. Simple, small things can also be hobbies. If I think of it that way, studying English, going for strolls, reading books, and watching the TV show Friends can all be considered hobbies.
I think hobbies can represent a person. I’m really looking forward to seeing how my hobbies evolve in the future.
Mine
Since I’m a person who can not continue onething for a long time, I’ve changed my hobby many times. So let me tell you about my hobbies’ history of change.
The minute I got entered the university, I could start the things what I really wanted to do. To be honest, I didn’t know what I want, but I had a lot of time to figure out them. As my only hobby in the days of retaking the exam was jumping rope, I thought that I would like to do workout.
Where I’ve entered my school has a national park mountain, so I deceded to go there. It’s been a while I went hiking since I graduated my elementary school. But the moment, I found a squirrel while I was singing a song which is story about the animals who live in mountain, squirrels are included. Since then, I really put myself into hiking. I joined the school hiking club, started rock-climbing, went other cities to go mountains. I enjoyed hiking for almost 3years. Furthermore, I got a 4th prize in hiking contest hold by the President. It was really exciting experience. But as you know, descending from montain is not good for my knees, so my interested in hiking reduced gradually.
During the 3 years, I started personal training session for power-lifting. I figured that I was really enjoying that exercise. So I devote myself into do it, finally I sucess to lift up 200kg in 3 Major Workout. I stoped it when I got my backache.
Since I started studying really hard in my first grade of the main course, there was no enough time for me to workout. That’s why I really enjoyed Cross-fit at the time. It doesn’t need much time to do, but it’s effect is super great. However, I’m now taking a leave of abscence for a year, and it’s short time have turned to be obstacle .
And then I did swimming for 2 months, kick-boxing for 2 months, and weight-training for a month. I enjoyed them a lot, but I’m not sure they could be my hobbies. Because more consistently I did them, more boring they became.
Lately, I’ve been enjoying taking photos with DSLR camera. Also I’ve started riding a skateboard. It was really fun at first time, but they are hard to keep up with. The item I needed for hobby bother me when I take them. So I don’t know what’s my hobby now. But I’ve also finding myself thinking of the hobby, they don’t have to be nice and fancy. Simple and small things could be hobby. If I think that way, studying English speaking and strolling around have to be my hobby, as well as reading a book, watching a drama “friends”.
I think hobbies could represent oneself. I really looking forward to observing change-history of my hobby from now on.
